Friday 12th February
Friday 12th February 2021
Good afternoon everyone,
We have reached the last day of this half-term and nursery will be closed next week reopening on Monday 22nd February.
The children who have been attending nursery have had a busy six weeks and we do hope that everyone shielding at home has still managed to feel part of Children’s House and included in all the fun and learning that has taken place. We certainly miss you all and looking forward to welcoming you back soon.
We are waiting to see if all schools will reopen fully on March 8th. There will be an announcement on the 22nd February and we will of course keep you fully informed.
All staff at Children’s House are now having twice weekly Covid tests and this is proving another helpful way to keep everyone safe.
Today we celebrated Chinese New Year –The Year of the Ox. Children in nursery enjoyed class parties and everyone looked wonderful in their red outfits and Chinese suits and kimonos. Children also enjoyed taking part in the traditional dragon dance.
Did you celebrate at home? If you would like to learn more about Chinese New Year there are lots of lovely things to watch on the blog. In school children danced, played party games and enjoyed sharing party food.
Shazna will be having a live zoom story and singing session this afternoon at 3.15 p.m. and she's looking forward to seeing lots of you at home.
During half-term there are two events which we would usually celebrate in nursery.
One is Valentine’s Day on Sunday 14th February and the other is Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day on the 16th February.
Do check the blog on Saturday to see how to make a Valentine’s card and how to make pancakes with Sam.
Have a good half term break and we will see many of you on the 22nd February and hopefully all of you soon. Thank you for everything you are doing to support your children and the nursery through this difficult time.
