Friday 9th October

Good morning everyone,

The last day of isolating has arrived and I am pleased to report that nursery will be able to open again on Monday 12th October. This week we would have been reminding parents/carers of children born between 1st September 2016 and 31st August 2017 to apply for a reception place as soon as possible in the primary school of your choice.

Children usually start primary school in the September following their fourth birthday. If your child was born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 this will be from September 2021. You must Make an online application for a reception place.

You must apply via the e-admissions portal. Closing date for making applications is 15 January 2021.

All parents that applied for a Reception school place before 15 January 2021 will be sent a letter with the outcome of their application on 16 April 2021. Parents will also be able to view the outcome of their application on the evening of 16 April by visiting the e-admissions portal.

Next week we can advise you further if you experience any difficulties.

Today Sadia is on the blog, she has a lovely activity for you all to try at home. This links into the learning we have been doing in nursery.

You can also play a “smelling” game with your child. Fill a box with a variety of scented items, ask your child to close their eyes and then try to identify the smell. You can also discuss the smell together, is it nice, strong, pungent, delicious etc, this is a great way to introduce new vocabulary.

Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday. Thank you for your understanding.
