Good afternoon everyone,
It was lovely to welcome children back to nursery today, everyone seems to have grown a little taller during lockdown. All the children were happy to back and had a lovely day.
In nursery this week we are having a focus on traditional tales starting with Goldilocks and the three bears. You can listen to Sadia reading it below and then click on the link to listen and watch a musical version. Children in red class sang the Goldilocks song today, you can also watch their video and join in at home.
Goldilocks and the three bears is a wonderful book to explore with children as there are so many fun things to do related to the story.
One of our ground floor friends listened to the story at home and enjoyed bear toast for breakfast, you can see him having fun below.
You will also find this week's home learning plan so you can have a go at one or two of the ideas at home.
Today in nursery children made the Three Bear’s House and acted out the story using their own story props.
At home after you have listened and watched the story you could make porridge, talk about size, match spoons to bowls, make a bed for a bear or even have a teddy bear’s picnic. You will find more activities listed on the home learning sheet. You can even talk about stranger danger and how Goldilocks can learn how to keep herself safe.
I hope you are all safe. In nursery we are doing everything we can to prevent the spread of the virus. Children are still in bubbles, however we now have a part time and a full time bubble, so your child may be in a different room however they will still have a familiar staff member with them and some of their friends.
Alison is also on the blog today and one of our ground floor friends. He has been busy learning all about space and dinosaurs.
Have a good evening and check in tomorrow.
