Monday 28th June 2021
Good afternoon everyone,
Today we had new parent sessions (zoom) for children joining us in September. It’s hard to believe that the end of term is fast approaching. Where has the year gone?
As we move into the last three weeks of term, we are working with the children on transitions and moving on. Children who are staying with us are exploring journeys and transport.
Today children in the first floor class designed and made passports, in the playground children made their own transport and went on imaginary trips and older children listened to stories about moving into reception class. The book of the week is Mr Gumpy's Outing by John Burningham, children enjoyed making masks so they could role play the various animals in the story.
There is still plenty of interest in mini-beasts and children were fascinated by a large beetle they found in the forest area.
In between rain showers children also enjoyed ring games in the playground and harvesting our bumper crop of strawberries.
Please can I respectfully remind parents/carers to try not to bring their car into the immediate area of the nursery school? It is getting quite dangerous with so many cars pulling in each morning and evening. If you do have to drive please can you park a little way from the nursery and walk your child the extra yards. This will help to keep everyone safe. There must be absolutely no parking/stopping on the yellow lines outside the nursery.
We have put in an application to be a no through road during school openings and closings because the traffic is getting really dangerous and will keep you all posted.
Have a lovely evening.
