Monday 4th January

Monday 4th January 2021

Good evening everyone,

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a better New Year than 2020. I hope that you are all fine and for those of you who are ill I wish you a speedy recovery.

I would like to take the opportunity this evening to pay tribute to Mr Nick Hague Head teacher of Marner School who as many of you will know sadly passed away during the Christmas holidays.

Mr Hague was a wonderful colleague and our hearts go out to his family, his friends and of course his school community. We will miss him terribly.

Children’s House at the moment remains open, however only for children of critical workers or children with additional needs.

I know how disruptive this is to you all. However, this virus is currently spreading rapidly and we have to keep our community safe. We have a number of staff with COVID and I know that many of you are currently affected too.

We will continue to post activities on the blog for children at home and hope to have live zoom sessions so do check in daily.

The school office remains open and you can e-mail or call with any queries. We are still here to help.

Finally, if your child was born between 1st September 2016 and 31st August 2017 you must apply for a primary school place by January 15th. If you haven’t done this yet and need help, please call the office.

Today on the blog we have a friend from ground floor class. He has been busy at home, making balloons and dinosaurs and being a scientist.

Keep your pictures and ideas coming and we will share them daily.

Stay safe and let’s all do our bit to help to control this virus.
