Good afternoon everyone,
I hope that you are all safe and well. Today in nursery we have continued to explore Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I hope that you have had an opportunity to try some of the activities outlined in the home learning plan (posted Monday 18th).
Today in the ground floor class children made a puppet theatre and their own puppets to act out the story of the three bears.
This is really easy to do at home. All you need are wooden spoons, or sticks and some crayons and cardboard. (The back of a cereal packet will do). Let your child draw the characters, tape them to the spoons or sticks and then act out the story. The children in nursery used blocks to make different sized beds, but you could use boxes or cushions or anything that you have to hand. Children are extraordinarily creative and will have plenty of ideas themselves if you ask them.
Do watch some of the puppet show below, then have a go at your own. We would love to see your video or pictures.
In the first floor class children explored paw prints and compared them to their own hand prints. They were very interested to learn just how big a bear’s paw print can be.
Children in red class explored porridge and talked about the texture, soft lumpy, sticky, bumpy, they had the opportunity to use lots of new words. Then children enjoyed drawing Goldilocks and the bears with chalk.
Rina is on the blog today making sandwiches, you could watch the video with your child then let them make their own sandwiches to have a teddy bear’s picnic.
You can listen to the song as you play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4HrxzG1WDM
We also have a first floor friend singing for us on the blog today and pictures of a ground floor friend enjoying acting out the story at home.
Have a lovely evening, see you tomorrow.
