Tuesday 30th November

Tuesday 30th November 2021

Good afternoon everyone,

I apologise for the lateness of this blog however the school server has gone down and we have no access to the internet or our work files. The problem is quite a big one, therefore, it may be a few days until we are back up and running.

In the meantime, please telephone the school if you need to speak to us as we may not receive your e-mail.

This week in nursery the children are reading “Mr Gumpy’s Outing” by John Burningham. To develop a deeper understanding of the story and to help memory and recall, children are encouraged to act out or retell the story in their own words.

This is a good story for developing memory skills. A number of animals ask if they can ride in Mr Gumpy’s boat, children are encouraged to think about the order in which the animals boarded the boat and to try to remember what Mr Gumpy told each animal not to do. Children also enjoyed making their own story props such as masks or puppets to help them when they act out or retell the story.

In red class children enjoyed using large packing boxes as vehicles and going on imaginary journeys.

A quick reminder, tomorrow we have the Early Words Together trip to the Idea Store and that mass must be worn again from today, on the gate, in nursery, on transport and in shops. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

Have a lovely evening
