Tuesday 5th January

Tuesday 5th January 2021

Good evening everyone,

Today we welcomed back to nursery the children of critical workers. It was sad not to be able to welcome everyone, however we still have a number of staff with Corona Virus, and have therefore prioritised children of essential workers as we are unable to fully open safely.

You are probably feeling confused by the news today that early years settings are remaining open. As a nursery school not a day care setting we are seeking urgent clarification from the Government as to why it is not safe for schools to open but is considered safe for nursery schools to remain open. We will keep you updated as we get a response to our questions. We want our children to be in nursery, however we also want safe children, safe staff, safe families and a safe community.

All six nursery schools in the borough are currently open to key worker children only.

Today on the blog Shazna is reading “Whatever Next” and singing some favourite rhymes. Do listen with your child and play “sleeping bunnies”.

Tomorrow why not make a space rocket? All you need is a cardboard box and your imagination. Pack a picnic and head off for the moon. We would love to see your pictures so do continue to share them.

Next week Joe Wicks will be back again at 9.00 a.m. on his YouTube channel, look out for the link and let children have a fun daily workout.

Have a good evening.

Stay safe and don’t forget to apply for a primary school place if you haven’t already.
