Tuesday 9th February

Tuesday 9th February 2021

Good afternoon everyone,

Another cold and snowy day, however children love snow so as you can imagination there was lots of excitement out in the garden.

Do watch Mirka’s video and tomorrow you can set up your own snow dig in the garden.

If you don’t have a garden don’t worry, collect some clean snow on a tray, provide spoons and small containers and your child will have lots of fun playing the snow and watching it melt. If you have a magnifying glass do look at snowflakes, they are just like us. Each one is unique and special. No two snowflakes are the same. Test this out for yourself, each one it totally different.

In nursery today children made Chinese Money envelopes these are always red as in China this symbolises luck, good fortune and joy.

These envelopes are usually filled with money and given to children as a new year gift.

Children also looked at Chinese characters today and had a go at calligraphy.

We also made a poster for Tesco to thank customers for wearing a mask when they shop.

There is plenty to do on the blog today including a new Billy Goat Gruff song and a video showing how to make a Chinese Lantern. (This activity will help children develop cutting skills). Judy is reading a signing a story and there is Mirka's game to try.

Have a lovely evening.
