Wednesday 27th January 2021
Good afternoon everyone,
I do hope that you all enjoyed our first live Zoom session today. I apologise for the initial delay; however, I understand that everyone managed to join the session. I know Kamran really enjoyed teaching phonics and seeing everyone joining in at home.
Do log in on at 3.15 p.m. on Friday when Shazna will be reading a live story.
Today there are some lovely examples of home learning on the blog, one of our ground floor friends went for a walk to collect sticks and then he built wonderful houses out of sticks and bricks.
Another friend was working hard and completed a complicated dinosaur puzzle all by himself and we have a friend from red class singing a song.
Tomorrow you could try building a safe house for the little pigs. Collect empty packets, boxes and whatever you have to hand and let your child have a go at creative modelling. In nursery we encourage children to sketch their ideas first. You can ask questions such as how many rooms will your house have; will it have windows? Where will you put the door? This helps to scaffold your child’s learning and helps them to think through their ideas.
Remember we would love to see pictures of your houses.
In nursery today children continued building their large houses, and playing number games. They also made the most of the good weather and enjoyed outdoor play.
Today you can sing the “Let’s build a house” song with Shazna and listen to the story Pete the Cat.
Have a lovely evening and stay safe.
