Wednesday 2nd December

Wednesday 2nd December 2020

Good evening everyone,

Today in nursery children continued exploring the story “Whatever Next” by Jill Murphy. If you are not familiar with the book I posted a link on Monday’s Blog.

Children also had their Think Equal group today. This is the wonderful new programme that we have recently introduced into our nursery. The aim of which is to bring about positive change in the lives of children by developing their self-confidence and self-esteem and teaching them to recognise and value similarities and differences between themselves and others. This initiative is calling for an end to violence and discrimination across the world by equipping our youngest children with the social and emotional skills they need to bring about positive change.

The programme is based around story books which the children love. Each lesson reflects the children’s own cultures, experiences and lives and introduces them to the cultures, experiences and lives others.

You can find out more about the programme by visiting:

www.thinkequal.org

Today children listened to the story “Is There Anyone Like Me”? this enabled them to go on to explore how unique each of them is.

There were also individual projects taking place in the creative areas and children continued developing the ball skills they practiced yesterday. In red class our youngest children enjoyed mark making on a large scale with chalk.

Have a lovely evening.
