Wednesday 3rd March

Wednesday 3rd March 2021

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you’ve all managed to have a good day despite the change of weather and the budget! The children in nursery had a busy day. In red class the children were able to pick the cress they’ve been growing, they all ate some and then made cucumber and cress sandwiches for snack.  It’s fun for children to grow their own food and it really encourages them to try something new, although they weren’t really too keen on the cress!

You can buy a packet of cress seeds in Tesco, then all you need is an empty container for example a fruit or veg tray, some damp cotton wool or kitchen roll and providing you keep watering and put in a sunny place you will have a good crop of cress to harvest within a week.

First floor children enjoyed filtering dirty water to make it clean, they were fascinated to see how the sand and stones act as filters to remove the dirt. The ground floor class made puppets to use in story telling sessions tomorrow when we celebrate World Book Day.

Don’t worry if you are at home you can still join in with all the fun World Book Day activities, just visit:

www.worldbookday.com

or click the link below. There are competitions, live story sessions and much more. You can even download free audio books. Just visit the hub to download your free early years pack.

If your child dresses up at home tomorrow, please send in your pictures for our gallery. We are looking forward to seeing the children in their costumes in nursery.

Have a lovely evening, stay warm.
