Wednesday 5th May

Wednesday 5th May 2021

Good afternoon everyone,

Today children have been learning all about farm animals and their babies. They enjoyed matching kids to goats, calves to cows, foals to horses etc.

Thy also enjoyed games of farm lotto. Children love learning about animals and there was plenty of interest in the activities. As soon as Mudchute farm reopens we will be taking small groups of children to visit. We have really missed taking the children to the farm and letting them get up to close to all the animals there.

Mudchute hasn’t opened yet because under current covid rules the children would not be allowed to interact with the animals or feed them and talks by the farmers are currently not allowed. In addition, there is some major building work taking place including new pathways, refurbishment of the courtyard, new toilets and a new water way system around the farm.

We look forward to it reopening soon as children learn best from first-hand experience.

Outdoors children initiated block play on a large scale, using their creations in their imaginative play. We were fortunate that the rain held off and the weather was warmer than expected.

Have a lovely evening
