Wednesday 6th January

Wednesday 6th January 2020

Good afternoon everyone,

Today we have been discussing the best way to support children at home with fun learning activities.

We have decided to base learning around a book of the week.

Each week we will choose a book and then plan simple activities based on the story that you can do at home. Please don’t feel under pressure to do all the activities and please do share any of your own ideas. We hope you will send us photos and videos to share on the blog of your adventures at home.

This week our book is “Whatever Next” by Jill Murphy. Shazna was on the blog reading it yesterday. Today you will find this week’s home learning sheet below. Just click on the link to open it.

We have talked about the importance of routine before and it is worth repeating that one of the best things that you can do right now to support your child’s wellbeing is to establish and stick to a set routine. A predictable routine really does help young children to feel safe and secure in these difficult times.

So do get up at the same time each day, eat meals together, make time for singing, stories and play, and establish a bed time routine. Your child will flourish.

In nursery today children were exploring animals and their habitats and learning about winter. They discussed the importance of wrapping up warmly before going out into the garden.

On the blog we have Sadia reading a story and Hanan and her son making instruments.

Do keep your pictures and videos coming in and have a good evening.

Remember we are here to help.
