About Us

Children’s House Nursery School is a state maintained school at the heart of the local community in Bromley-by-Bow, Tower Hamlets.
We are housed in a listed building and are proud of our heritage; the school has been serving local children for more than a hundred years.
We are committed to providing the highest standards of care and education for every child through meaningful experiences that build on what children, know, understand and can do.
At the heart of our work with children is the close relationships we form with each family. We work in partnership with parents and carers to give children an inspirational start to their school lives.

Author Marissa Pajot Webb to visit the nursery on 4th March
World Book Day: Friday 6th March children can come dressed as their favourite story character 
World Book Day: Friday 6th March: Parents please come along and share a story with your child at 9-9.30am or 12.30-1pm
Trip to the Idea Store Tuesday 10th March 
Trip to the Young V&A Thursday 26th March 9.45am-2pm.
​Trips will take place in small groups. A member of staff will speak with you if your child is selected to take part on this occasion. All children will have opportunities to attend trips during their time at the nursery.

​Learning Through Play 

​This half term, our learning has been led through books, with Homes as our key theme. The children have been exploring two familiar traditional tales ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ and ‘The Three Little Pigs’ using them as a starting point for rich play-based learning.

The Children’s House Values underpin everything we do at our nursery.
They have been created in line with the British Values of Democracy, Individual Liberty, Rule of Law and Respect.
Everyone who comes to our school is expected to support these values.
Our values permeate everything we do: we want our children to refer to them to support each other, independently problem solving and managing their own behaviour.
Children know they will be listened to and their words valued; we want them to speak up for what they believe and feel trusted and safe to do so.
