Working with Parents and Carers

At Children's House we recognise parents and carers are the first teachers of their children.
We work together to foster warm relationships that are effective in sharing good practice.
Please keep your eye open for our family workshops, community days, trips and other events.
Our latest Newsletter (under the 'News' tab) will give details of our latest workshops, trips and courses.
From Early Words Together, to Families Connect, to swimming and E-Safety, there is something for everyone.

If you need any support or have any requests for workshops you'd like to be part of or set up, please speak to your child's key person, Guthsna or Becky.
What do our parents and carers say?

"This programme has taught me how to cook for my son and has helped establish relationships with staff."
A's dad - Early Words Together

"It helped me with my communication with both of my children. It helped me build a stronger relationship with my children. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed myself!"
A's mum - Early Words Together

"I enjoyed the activities. Wonderful staff. I am new to the area and so made new friends. R has come out of her shell. I am going to miss it."
R's mum - Early Words Together and local trips

"I've loved helping the parents and children and seeing their confidence grow. It's wonderful to be part of the Children's House family and Bow community."
Lauren - Parent Volunteer

"I am very fortunate to have been an Early Words Together volunteer for 5 years at Children's House Nursery School. It is a truly inspirational project which not only benefits children and families but also the volunteers who deliver the project. As a volunteer I had opportunities to contribute to the team's effort in invaluable ways. I also gained valuable knowledge, skills and experience which have helped me in my current charity sector role.  One of the highlights of the role was working alongside a dedicated and supportive staff team at Children's House who were always keen to share their ideas and offer advice."
Hasna - Early Words Together Volunteer
