Trips and Visits

We know how important it is for young children to access first hand, meaningful experiences to help develop confidence language and develop an understanding of the world around them.
Trips are a great way to support this development.
At Children's House families across the course of the year, all families are invited to join staff and their child on at least one trip. We encourage families to use public transport where possible and try to expose them to new and exciting, often free, places to visit in the local area and in London.

Our Blog shares full explanations and details of trips, the learning involved and modes of transport used to encourage al families to take part.
We try to match children and their interests and needs to suitable trips that will inspire and support their development.
We are grateful to Transport for London who often support our trips by providing free transport on the Docklands Light Railway.

Recent trips have included:
  • Museum of Docklands
  • Mudchute Farm
  • Discover, Stratford
  • Then Natural History Museum
  • Stepney Farm
  • Half Moon Theatre
  • Paradise Wildlife Park

If you have any questions or recommendations regarding trips or need any advice, please speak to your child's key person.
To ensure a positive experience, all trips have been risk assessed, with a pre-visit and a lead member of staff supports families during the course of the trip. All trips are evaluated thoroughly after the visit.
